Illinois College stops Knox men 78-62

The Knox College men?s basketball team could not make a 39-37 halftime lead stand up and dropped a Midwest Conference game to Illinois College 78-62 on Wednesday.

The Prairie Fire?s MMWC loss dropped them to 1-6 in the league and 1-11 overall. Illinois College improved to 3-4, 6-6.
Knox grabbed a 26-16 lead eight minutes into the game on a layup by Eric Miller but IC chipped away to cut the margin to two points by intermission.

IC pulled into a tie shortly after the half and it took a Lukas Shaw layup with 15:56 left to keep the score at 47-47.
Knox would never tie or lead again, hampered by 28.6 percent shooting after halftime while IC shsot 51.5 percent over the last 20 minutes.

David Jones led Knox with 19 points. Lukas Shaw had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Isaac Grapperhaus scored 18 points to lead IC.
