NFL fantasy: Bills aren?t committed to Ryan Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick not guaranteed roster spot: Add the Buffalo Bills to the list of teams facing quarterback issues this offseason. When asked about the future of?Ryan Fitzpatrick, team president Russ Brandon was rather evasive, saying he was ?evaluating every?aspect of the organization.? That certainly doesn?t mean Fitzpatrick will be handed his walking papers, but with the re-signing of?Tarvaris Jackson and speculation that Buffalo will draft a quarterback, there?s little reason for the Harvard product to think his spot as a starter (or even on the roster) is safe. Meanwhile as this all plays out, the fantasy fortunes of?C.J. Spiller?and even?Fred Jackson grow brighter.

Cowboys to add running back: It?s widely believed that the Dallas Cowboys will part ways with?Felix Jones. But lest you think this means the entire running back workload will fall to?DeMarco Murray, think again. Stephen Jones, the team?s executive vice president, says the ?Boys could target a running back in the draft. Murray is proven as a productive option for Dallas, if he can stay on the field; in two seasons, the former Oklahoma standout has missed nine games. Last season, Murray was limited to just 663 rushing yards while the Cowboys as a team ran for 1,265 ? six players ran for more by themselves. Fantasy owners can expect Murray to be Dallas? lead runner in 2013, but if you take a chance on him in the draft, grabbing his handcuff will be imperative.

Chargers considering zone-blocking scheme: New San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy is already looking at ways to boost the team?s inconsistent running game ? and he?s starting with the guys up front. McCoy says the team will occasionally employ a zone-blocking scheme to help?Ryan Mathews. Of course, the offensive line was one of San Diego?s big problems last season, so just changing the blocking schemes might not be enough to help their star-crossed running back change his fortunes. And after three underwhelming seasons, fantasy owners are best left to wait for Mathews to produce before putting any serious faith in him.
